New Delhi, Jan 26, 2021: After months of lockdown measures amid the Covid crisis, the month of January witnessed a flurry of activities organized by the West Bengal Information and Cultural Centre and Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal here.
Tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary on 12th January, homage to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary on 23rd January and unfurling of the national flag in state guest houses in New Delhi on 26th January were among the key events of the month.
West Bengal participated in Republic Day Parade 2021 with a tableau on ‘Sabooj Sathi’, or the Green Companion — a State Government scheme aimed at increasing access to higher education through distribution of bicycles to all students in classes IX to XII across 12,000 Government and
Government-Aided Schools of West Bengal.
