Government of West Bengal organizes All Faith Prayer Meeting, Gandhi exhibition





New Delhi, Jan 30: To mark the martyrdom day of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, an all-faith prayer meeting was organized by the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal, at the West Bengal Information and Cultural Centre here today.

Students of Convent of Jesus & Mary, Guru Harkrishan Public School India Gate, Union Academy Senior Secondary School, Shafiq Memorial Senior Secondary School and Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Delhi, took part in the solemn ceremony, reciting shlokas, religious texts and devotional songs. The event concluded with the rendering of “Itni Shakti Humein Dena Data”.

A day-long photo-exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi, “My Life is My Message”, along with a book exhibition and the screening of a short documentary film on the Father of the Nation was also organized on the occasion in association with Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Culture.

Shri Bhaskar Khulbe, Secretary to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Shri R.D. Meena, Advisor, Industries and Officer on Special Duty, Office of the Resident Commissioner, graced the event along with other senior officials of the Office of the Resident Commissioner.
